Many thanks to our Rural social group Coordinator Karen Kidd for organising a quiz and supper at the New Inn Flash on Friday  3rd March ,Over £300 was raised for Buxton Young Farmers

James Gregory-Campeau, Laura Poole and Kate Turnock of Buxton Young Farmers’ have been selected to represent the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs as ambassadors on a volunteering trip to Lesotho. YFC Travel is NFYFC’s international travel programme, and it is a brilliant way to visit remote countries, experience other cultures and meet new people.

They will visit Lesotho in August 2017, and whilst there we will be working side by side with community members and leaders. Our work is likely to include elements of conservation agriculture, addressing issues of smoke inhalation from domestic cooking and education for sustainable development.

The trip is facilitated by Africa’s Gift, who promote sustainable economic and agricultural development in Africa with a particular focus on the Malealea Valley, Lesotho.

Each attendee is required to fundraise £1,610 for the charity. There are also additional costs for travel, vaccinations and social expenditure, which they  must raise themselves.

Can anyone help by sponsoring them?

On their return, they are willing to speak about their experience to anyone who would like to listen. We could also write you a report with photographs etc. that could be used for your own PR and website.
