Rural Resilience and Business Support

In conjunction with the Princes Countryside Fund this project has been launched to help those living in the rural Peak Park and surrounding areas to prepare for the future.

Through this programme farm and rural businesses have access to free, impartial and confidential business support from our Rural Resilience and Business Support Co-ordinator Lorna Critchlow. Lorna is available for on farm visits and 1:1 support. We also have links to lots of other rural and agricultural organisations who we can connect you with for further support or advice.

We are able to offer the following practical business support through this programme:

  • Basic book keeping advice
  • Grant application problem solving
  • Guidance on livestock record keeping
  • Support in preparation for audits
  • Signposting to external support agencies
  • Farm visits and 1:1 support available on request

Since the Rural Resilience and Business project began we have also been able to host a range of events and workshops aimed helping farm businesses to remain sustainable. Topics included at these sessions have included: Planning for the future and succession, Reducing the impact of TB on your farm, Getting to grips with the Agricultural Transition Plan, An introduction to diversification, How to establish a pop up campsite, and more! Look out on our social media pages, Facebook and Instagram, and on the What’s on section of our website for forthcoming dates.
